Hello all. I am new to the forum but am told you guys are the best. I hope you are able to help. I have a Seaswirl 2101 CC with a 2001 Yamaha SX150TXRA. The boat has the Tach gauge and the Speedometer Gauges on the dash( There are 2 seprate) They are both digital gauges. I took the boat out this weekend and has encounter the problem that the digital speedometer is stuck at 32 mph. When you slow down sometimes it will go to 31 but will not move beyond that. Any help? Any clue on what this can be... Please let me know

Thank you

Re: 2001 Yamaha SX150TXRA Speedometer Problem.

I'm not positive but I bet you have a plugged water intake hole on your lower geargase housing. My 2000 150hp has a very small hole on the front of the lower unit just about 5 to 7 inches below the cavitation plate. Water enters this hole and the air pressure build-up is what activates the speedometer. Use a slightly smaller twist drill, insert and hand turn gently. Remove the drill after every 5 or 6 turns. The rotating drill should clear the blockage.
