Hello and new here.

Was wondering if anyone knows if this boat has true fiberglass floor or is it the wood in-layed fiberglass floor?

I am very close to buying this boat, but want to make sure what type of floor it has first.

Thanks for any help.

Welcome to iboats.

Caravelles have been wood free for several years.

Have you checked out the factory website, in your research?

Thanks for the welcome.

I have checked the factory website and they do not have any info on older boats.

I have also checked numerous misc sites with no luck. :(

I called two different Caravelle dealers today and one told me all fiberglass and the other told me wood in-layed fiberglass.

I will call a couple more dealers in the morning and see if I can get a good answer from someone.

Re: 2002 Caravelle 176 Bowrider

Sorry, I glossed right over the "2002"

Did a little searching, and it looks like "wood free" was introduced in 2003 on the LS models and the SeaHawk offshore fishing boats.

Does the floor have any soft spots? If it is solid, then will it really matter if it is wood cored? I've got a '96 with a wood only floor, still a strong as the day it left the factory.

Take care of it and it will last.

The floor is very solid.
It is a one owner always stored in a garage and new kept in a slip.

The interior/seats/carpet is a 9.5 out of a 10.

It has the 3.0 Volvo / Penta.

If it is in good shape, verified by independant source, and you like the price, don't let a little wood scare you.
