2002 evenrude 225 Ficht won't start after shut off.

Hello, I have a 2002 225hp evenrude Ficht outboard on my triton boat and it starts right up first start and runs perfect with no issues until I go to shut it off then turn it back on and the no oil, hot, and check engine light comes on and won't turn over. If I take the power cables off the battery and tighten them back on it will start. The oil tank is full and I check every run to make sure it has went down. Motor pumps wate very strong. I'm not sure if it needs an oil filter change or what? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also the engine has never went into the (slow) mode for me like iv seen in other forums

I think your going to take it in and have it checked, sounds like your EMM might be going out on you. Have the software updated to the latest version and have them see if they can replicate the problem.

You will probably cringe at the price of a new one BUT if your tech knows what he is doing he can take a used EMM and load your information into it and make it work like a brand new one. Used ones are all over eBay for $500 or less. Just make sure you get the right one, the OMC built EMMs will only work on the OMC built engines but the BRP built EMMs will work on the OMC or BRP built engines.

Could also be broken solder joint in PDP as this is a common issue also.

Another thing I didn't mention is that if I let the motor sit for about 15 minutes after being shut off it will start right back up without disconnecting anything. I replaced the oil filter and fuel water separator but haven't taken it out sense.
