There is a tube that runs down to the lower unit which i am assuming is a vacuum or pickup for the speedometer. It was attached to a plastic nipple with a wire tie. The nipple cracked off. Is this screwed in or just a plug in and how do I replace it. Half of the nipple is still in the hole and I don't want to push it in if it will cause a clog or other problem.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Mike

Bros.... That is indeed the speedometer pickup fitting. It's simply a pressed in fitting type thing. Easy way to get it out is to screw in a small sheet metal screw, then yank it out with a pair of vice grips or a tool of your choice.

Simply tap in the new one (OMC Part #326266) which you should be able to locate at any Evinrude/Johnson dealership. If you have a problem locating them, contact me via e-mail as I have a few of them left in my remaining stock. ReevesJ32@aol.com
