Hi all,
First post and looking for help, I would really appreciate any knowledge that can be shared.
I bought a 1998 Larson 208 SEI with a GM 4.3L/Volvo Penta outdrive early this spring and it blew up first day on the water.. bad day. A family friend has a 2002 GM Sonoma with a 4.3L in it, I am wondering if that motor would be compatible for an easy (as easy as possible) swap with the blown boat motor. I do not want to get into re-wiring or machining anything, hoping the engines will be essentially the same and the marine parts can bolt on without any tampering. Both motors are Vortec, the new is fuel injected while the boat is carbureted however I believe this can be swapped without too much trouble. From other reading I`ve done I understand that bolt patterns, oil pans and other difficulties may arise if the engines are not similar enough. Any advice or even a point in the direction to more information would be great.
Thanks very much,
