2002 johnson 115 idle mixture screw adjustment

Does anybody know how many turns out from seated position the idle mixture screw on the carbs should be for a 2002 johnson 115 V4 ? I cannot find this anywhere.

You were supposed to count turns in before removing. They were preeset at factory for runability as well as emissions. With that said 3 1/2 to 5 1/2 seems to be where I find them. The book doesn't give a setting.

But my factory manual says 5-3/4 turns for the earlier 90 / 115 HP models.----manual part # is 507268 and printed in 96.

I was referring to the 2002/2003 SN,ST manual. It is a factory manual. I think they combined the two years as that was right during/after the bankruptcy and the new owners.

About 4 turn out as this is the initial setting to keep motor running. The correct setting is done in the water ,in gear, boat untied, and engine level. Then adjust engine carb waiting 10-15 seconds to see response. Some may end up 3-5/8 turns and some 4-3/4 turns as depends on engine and cylinder condition.None will be set exactly the same
