OK. Ive got a 2002 Johnson 115hp 4 cylinder 2 stroke motor. Ive got it on a 18 foot 1994 Robalo. I just got this boat and it has been sitting for over 6 months to a year. Could be longer. The boat started up with a little starting fluid at the house. I let it run for about 5 min. and it seemed fine. I took it out to the bay today for the first time. It started up fine at the dock. Ran it out for a few min. and started to open it up. Then it just throttled down all by its self. Then started to make a weird noise. Almost like knocking. But different. Headed back in at idle. Then it died. Found out there was water only on the spark plug in the top right cylinder. Took it home to run it. And now it seems like prop won't move in gear or at the flywheel. Starter engages but the flywheel seems stuck.

I put a new water separator in before I took it out.

I figured water in gas. But not sure why that would make the motor get stuck.

Any Ides..... ?

Thanks, Ollie

No such thing as a 4 cycle, 2 stroke outboard. It is a 4 cylinder motor.
Anyway something major is wrong with it.
It could have overheated and seized up.
The lower unit could have broken.
Many things could have happened. All bad.
The first thing I'd do is drop the lower unit to see if the engine will rotate without the lower unit. If it still doesn't rotate, then remove the cylinder heads to see the damage.

As soon as it died I took the cover out and felt the heads. The head on the right, or the one with the plug that had water on it was hot
but didn't seen overly hot. I could hold my fingers on it for a few seconds. The other head was hot but not as much.
