I have a 2003 40hp mercury 2 stroke with no spark in either cylinder. I checked the cdm modules with a multi meter, they were both fine. I've only used the boat about a dozen times. It ran great up until late August, after a short fishing trip I shut it down back at the dock and tried to start it a hour later to move it and it wouldn't start. Like I said CDM's are find, any other idea of what to check next in the ignition system?

Thanks,
Jason

If you have not already disconnected the kill wire from the CDMs and checked for spark, you should and if that dont 't help Check the trigger winding and the stator.

I had simlar problem & :Dwent thru disconecting wires and using meters. It was a weaken battery.Had a enough power to crank over 225 RPMs,but was robbing power to spark it.Put new battery & it came to life!{ I used a simple household 110 volt tester and it showed spark , but not with the one you use two test inboarbs and out boards, lawn mowers, ect.} I was vary happy; almost bought new spark control unit!
