Have a 2003 Yamaha 90hp that will not stay running when the throttle is opened up. Wants to choke out after 10 seconds or so. Had it in the shop in which they adjusted linkage, plugs, and air intake screws ... Took ti back on water and it did the same EXACT thing today !! Is there something electrical that may be causing this to choke out ?? I noticed today that my locator quit also when the motor choked out ... Anyone have any ideas ?? I had the muffs on the motor for 20 minutes and it runs perfect at top end and will not choke out .. Is there some type of load resistor that may be bad or something when the engine needs to actually push the boat ?? Anyone help ??
