Having issues with my 2003 Caravelle. We got the boat recently and it had 40 hours on it. Has the 4.3 Volvo engine. As of this evening we have 45 hours on it and are experiencing some electrical issues. When I got it, the radio, navigation light, and accessory switch didn't work. We replaced the bulb in the light, nothing. Replaced the radio, it turned on and off in less than 10 seconds over and over. Accessory switch ended up being a bad connection on the switch itself. We pulled the rocker switch panel off and checked the connections, all seems good as far as I can tell. There is one wire that is yellow with a black stripe that leads from the back of one of the switches to nothing. I can't find where it goes, clearly it went somewhere originally. We got everything to work good, we left for the day turning off the battery switch, came back the next day to the same issues. Nav light and radio not working. 12 volt socket not working either. I again pulled it apart and eventually got it to work, all but the 12 volt socket. The breaker tripped by the 12 volt socket, I can't figure out why but all else was working. Turned off the battery and came back an hour later, all still worked except the 12 volt socket. Thought all was good, turned off the battery and left and came back today. You guessed it, nav light and radio not working again. I'm stumped and can't figure it out. Today when I left I left the battery switch on to see if that changes results tomorrow. Anyone have any idea on what to check? Anyone know where this mysterious yellow wire with black stripe leads? I can take a picture of the wiring tomorrow.
Thanks everyone.
