2003 Evinrrude 225 leaking water into Cylinder 5

Guys
I need you help. I had an evinrude 225 bought months ago with one ring piston broken and sleeve damager. Initially I was thinking a injector lean cause the issue but after re sleeve and new piston installed it is getting water on the cylinder. I think sleeve was not installed correctly Sleeve and deck not properly flush. But also Suspect issue was not lean injector was water into cylinder making piston broke ring. That is possible?.
Also I need help finding the way to detect any pinhole on cylinder and if is possible to fix?

Any help is really appreciatted

Don't think water in the cylinder would break a ring. Localized overheating, or a lean cylinder would be more likely. Was the #5 cylinder/spark plug clean (like steam cleaned) when you pulled it apart the first time?

Personally, I would probably pull the head back off, then check the head and deck for squareness. You will need to clean the head and deck to be sure that there is no remaining gasket material. Then use machinist strait edge with feeler gauges to measure any low spots you may find.

Initially was white after re sleeve and new piston and ring cylinder is working only issue water on cylinder.

I compare new sleeve against other 5 and looks like is a little bit low against deck I will say 0.5 mm.

AS you mention I will check cylinder head and deck warped to be sure not low spots.

any suggestion to detect pin hole or cracks on the block.

If you can make up the right plugs or adapters you can check for leaks with either water or air.

If sleeve was damaged in the 12:00 to 3:00 o"clock position (exhaust side) it could have punched a hole in the internal water jacket and if sleeve is not flush with block it will suck water around head gasket sealing rings. When I install a sleeve I leave about .040 extruded and deck the entire side to make it flush.

For sure sleeve was not flush properly but any way As you mention I will check any leaks on water Jacket.

I will do it tomorrow on case a pin hole on water jacket it can be repair with JB weld or I have to change engine block

Yesterday I check the block with water and discover a small water leak between sleeve and water jacker Today I will take out the sleeve. But After reviewing old/previous sleeve I notice rust residual on the sleeve very minimal but I think there is not a crack is a small pinhole between water jacket and Sleeve.

If small pinhole or porosity it still weld not cold weld can do the job!

How are you going to remove sleeve? And how are you going to install the new one? These do not just pull out and press in as they must have a interference fit....
