2003 Ficht 150's ???

Hello All,<br />I'm new to the board and have a question on 2003 Ficht 150's. I'm thinking about purchasing a 2003 Aquasport Osprey 250 with twin Ficht 150's. The boat and motors are like new with only 10 hours on them. Are the 150 Fichts reliable or have there been problems with them. If I'm not mistaken, Bombardier resolved the problems with the Ficht's when they purchased the company. Anyone have any experience with these motors.<br />Thanks in advance!

Welcome to iboats blue!<br /><br />Been several posts' on Fichts. The originals were the bad boys to stay away from. Bomby pretty much got the bugs out after taking over the old OMC Corp. Do a search for Fichts' for more comments.<br /><br />Good Luck!

Those motors are next to bullet proof since Bombardier increased quality control. Not only that but they have a 3 year warranty on them that is transferable.<br /><br />Have them checked out by a trained FICHT technician and get a computer printout from the computers on both motors that shows the hours, the motor's history, and the time spent at different rpms.

I have over 900hrs. on my Ficht Ram 2001 150HP. and have friends with over 1200hrs. on their FichtRam motors. The OMC version computers (Engine management Modules) were not that dependable as the improved Bombardier's EMM.<br />I guess that's why Bombardier renamed them Direct Injection motors (DI) to get away from the Fickeled Ficht name.
