2003 Johnson 115hp

I have just installed a brand new out of the creat 2003 Johnson 115<br /><br />It does not want to start cold?? Taked like 10 or more trys? Once warm runs like a charm!! Then at the end of the day when I put on trailer it leaks gas all over? I think from the Carbs?<br /><br />When I get home to flush it I have to start all over again trying to starting it?? Seems like not getting gas when trying to start, and to much gas when you shut if off??<br /><br />Anyone have any suggestions ??<br /><br />Thanks again guys!!

It says that it has a auto start thing. Do not touch throttle or anything, pup ball, try to start, if no start repeat?? I have been trying to choke it and nothing?? Maybe choke on key no work??<br />I have a call into the seller of the motor and they have not called back?? Has 5 year warr.<br /><br />Thanks

Squeeze the bulb up hard then push in the choke and hold the choke in while you crank it and see what happens.

thats what I have been doing. The dealer I bought the motor from called and told me even that the key say choke on it it is not a choke. <br /><br />This motor has a eletronic start and That I should not touch anything when trying to start it.<br />Just pump ball turn key on I should hear a clik sound then try starting, If no start repeat.<br /><br />The key choke is not a choke at all, but a injection button that will inect fuel so I should try to feather it a little till I get the hang of starting it.<br />If you don't do it right it will eaither have no gas or to much gas??<br />I will let you guys no how I make out??<br /><br />Just give me the good old days!<br /><br />Thanks all!!

If it leaks "gas all over" you have a serious fuel leak and the system is draining fuel out of the engine.<br /><br />The system should be 100% airtight. Find the leak and you should have it fixed. I had a similar problem that was solved with a new primer bulb to prevent backflow (over several hours)into the tank.

well what he says the leaking is oil build up because I am running a 50:1 mix in tank and the injection system is also working. Told me to check carbs. This will be were its comming from? This is to be done for the frist tank of gas for the break in and it will go away after I go back to regular gas?? <br /><br />Going to try this weekend and see what happens<br /><br />Thanks all!!
