I have a 2003 150hp Merc saltwater carb motor jetted with sea level jets. I'm going to Saskatchewan, Canada in a couple months so I am trying to wait to re-jet until I get back. I live in Colorado (4000 feet)and I am running rich up here. Can I adjust this at all to improve performance at this altitude. I had a 2001 90hp carb Merc and was able to adjust the carbs by adjusting the brass screws right to lean out, and left to make rich. (I would turn 1/8 turn top, then middle, then bottom carb - keep going until ok) This helped, but with the v-6 I'm not sure if I can do the same thing. Now I have 6 screws (3 per side). I am not motor savvy at all. If I can do this, what order would I adjust the screws? Both tops, then middles, then bottoms? Before I bought the motor my boat mechanic told me no problem, I can adjust it the same way as my 90. Now he tells me I can't and that the idle would be the only thing affected by doing this. I would have bought the EFI had I known this. Any ideas or am I stuck until I re-jet? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mtnpike
