2003 yamaha 250 hpdi loss of power after filter change

Changed water seperator filter on my 250 hpdi and now engine is missing hard to get on plane and will only achive approx 4900 rpm. Cleaned filter on port side of engine along with screen in tank on port side of engine. blew out fuel lines from engine to tank all no help.Ran fine before I changed water seperator filter, put old filter back on problem stayed. ????

most likly either the VST filter is clogged or the medium pressue filter is clogged, or both.
they are maint itemes and shoild be change BEFORE they fail.

I am having the same problem...I changed the fuel element and the VSC filter. It is like the engine just stops instantly for 1 second, never completely stalls and is worse at higher RPM... any help is appreciated !

the 100 dollar filter from SVT to high pressure pump is a must change, but my SVT filter was really clogged and 1 of my 2 diaphrams on my mechanical fuel pump had a hole in it, so i replaced both which is recommended.all of that work cost me 800.00. can u say RAPE, with this economy they still charge 95.00 an hour. then they cry the are all goin out of buisness. still my boat does not go over 5000 rpms. hope it helps.

yep, us mocanixs we uns gotts a liceinse to steels.
know edumactations greasy bal kaps and a hand out.
I also notice fastferrari posts no data such as high pressure fuel rail,TPS or map sensor readings at the problem RPM.
also rebuilds mean many things to many people.
what was replaced and did the tech that did it have minimum fuel and electrical certs from a Yamaha school.
