Hi. I have a 2004 Johnson four stroke 115HP with about 330 hours on it. When returning to idle after running, as low as 2000rpm, the engine will shut off. It will fire right back up. I have a fuel/water separator installed, and have replaced it (had no water). I put new plugs in it, and it still does it. It also hesitates momentarily when going from idle to 2000rpm. I am hearing a lot about the idle air adjustment from this forum and my SELCO manual. I checked the CTP itself. Any ideas?

You need to check all of the hoses on the engine for being pinched, mis routed or off of connections. Clean the idle air control valve, reinstall, check electric connection, then adjust the idle. You could also try moving the idle up 25/50 rpms when adjusting. I would also check the fuel pressure from the low pressure pump and high pressure pump.

By the time that I saw this reply, I had adjusted the idle air control valve and got it to run some in the driveway with a hose attached. I took it out yesterday. It ran like a charm!
