2004 60 horse merc 4 stroke EFI wont start

Hello fellow boaters, this is my first post. I have a 2004 60 horse 4 stroke efi mercury. The boat hasnt been ran in a year. Today i changed the plugs and gas. I primed the ball and cranked the engine. It turnes over fine but no startup. Then i double checked and recleaned the fuel filter and tried again. Same result, turnes over but wont start. Confuses me because ive gone 6 or seven months before without running it and it always fired up after proper maintenance. 253 hours on the engine and has been maintained well. Any expertise would be great.

Sorry I can't be much help, but I suggest that you investigate high pressure fuel filters and fuel/water seperators.

If the fuel was not treated before storage, the high pressure pump may not be providing fuel because it is seized. Check for fuel pressure.

Hi there.
An easy one to miss, but have you checked the emergency cut out switch on the fwd/rvs lever? You know, the one that usually has the key attached. If this is missed then the motor won't turn over no matter how many times you crank it. Just my 2 cents worth. Hope you solve it as I have the same engine, but no problems with mine at this stage.

At work right now. Thank you both for replying. Ill ckeck both things when I get home. Man am I gonna feel silly if I missed the kill switch
