2004 75HP Merc 4-stroke low speed misfire

My 75 mercury 4 stroke experienced imtermittent mis-firing, mostly at idle speeds, at the end of last season. I changed out the plugs, ran all the fuel out and emptied the gas tank when I winterized it hoping this would eliminate the problem. First run yesterday and the problem persists. I suspect an ignition problem. Where should I look next?

Start by checking all connections for corrosion and making sure all the grounds are clean and tight, could also be faulty plug wires.
