Hi guys, looking for some tech advice. This engine cranks fine, and the battery passed its load test. Usually fires right up no problem, but has lately refused to start, as if someone has pulled the safety cord. Leave it sit for a while and she fires right up with no hestitation or idling issues. Does this whether the engine is warm or cold. Changed the fuel filter. It has fresh spark plugs and I pulled them again to see that cylinder #1 and #3 were black as if running rich. Trying to get it to act up on the trailer so that I can check for spark. Of course, it starts every time now. If the VST filter and injectors have never been cleaned, could they cause these issues? I appreciate any help you can offer. It's no fun going fishing while you wonder if you'll ever make it back to shore. Thanks!

You need to check you fuel pressure off the VST. 40+ psi.

Capt. Ken, do I measure the VST pressure at the fuel rail? The shraeder valve looks smaller than most automotive fittings. Is there an adaptor available for an automotive fuel pressure gauge? Thanks
