Hello,

I am having an issue with my 2004 Johnson PLSRR 2 stroke motor. The first issue I have been having for a while is the idling. It idles fine out of the water on a hose, but in the water it cuts out and will stall when you put it into gear, I noticed the spark plugs were fouled so I changed them but they keep fouling out. Lately the motor has been getting progressively worse, it will leak two stroke unburned oil down the bottom of the motor and the air silencer is full of fuel. When I ran it a week ago on my driveway the **** stream coming out was steaming and there was smoke coming out of everywhere with large amounts of gunk inside the propeller so I replaced the thermostat and no luck, I also tried cleaning the carbs by just spraying carb cleaner in the jets and the intake still no change. I have done all my maintenance myself because I have been screwed by many mechanics. I checked all fuel and oil lines they appear to be good with good flow, and there is new plugs and a new water impeller , seems to me the motor is running rich . I was hoping someone is able to give me good advice on what this may be. I have also heard that maybe with floating pin in stuck on a carb. Is there any way to check without pulling out the carb.

- Chris:)

Is this motor running with the oil injection system in service ??---------Have you done a compression test ?----Does the primer bulb go hard when you squeeze it?-----It is quite common for motors to sound good on the hose in the driveway.---Most folks can not hear what might be wriong with it.-You can help yourself by answering the questions.

Yes I have a oil injection system in service. I have not compression tested it for a while, and the bulb is staying firm ! Thanks for your reply
