Hey guys I just bought a 2004 Stratos boat that has a 2004 115 HP Johnson on it.
Model: J115GLSRM

Today was the Maiden voyage and after getting it in the water at the dock I pumped the gas ball 3 times and it started up then stalled. Tried 2 more times then it fired up fine.

I ran it up and down the river for awhile and it was fine.
I stopped to bass fish and turned off the motor To use the trolling motor.
When I went back to my other motor I had a hell a time getting it back up. It would start fine then stall out after about 5s of running. I'd try to give it gas then it would just stall.
I did notice some smoke burning but just a little. That might be normal.

After 15 try's it went and was good. At the dock I shut the key off to test it started right back up fine.
Ideas?

Thanks.

You need to pump the primer bulb till firm, not just a set number of times.
If you have an air leak in your fuel system, it could be loosing prime and causing hard starting after sitting for a while. You might try pumping your primer bulb before you try to start it after sitting for a while.

I will give that a try. I definitely didn't pump till firm. Should I do that every time I stop?

You shouldn't have to, once the fuel system is primed you should be OK, unless you have an air leak somewhere causing you to loose prime.
If it starts properly every time you prime the system, I would check all fuel lines and connectors to see if anything is loose or cracked.
