2004 Merc 9.9 tricky throttle, Merc shop manual site?

Hello,

I have a 9.9 Merc that has sort of a sticky throttle that is very difficult to fine select a trolling speed. We are trolling rivers for salmon with a lot of other boats, and need to really fine tune our speeds.

I was wondering if there is a way to make the throttle cable smoother, what type of grease to use, or adjustment to do.

I also was wondering if the manuals are even worth buying to figure out how to run the valves, etc. At one point, somebody had a website with PDF's of all the merc manuals, it was VERY cool, and VERY informative.

Does anyone still have that link?

Save money and get a factory manual at this ebay store , I purchased one last week , It dosent even look like it has ever been used, Mercury charges $71.00, You can get one from this guy for less than half, There even cheaper than a new clymer Manual, Go Here
