I'm thinking on buying a flatbottom ( 14' with 4' 6" beam) with a 2004 9.9 Mercury on it-
Anyone own this motor & or do you think it'll push this boat OK in a slow moving river -
Don't care about speed, just wonder if its enuff motor?

I haven't ran a 9.9 but I have run the same size boat with a Johnson 7.5 It moved the boat very well even in a fast moving river. Probably maxed out around 15 to 20 mph depending on the load. You should be fine with this motor.
