2004 merc xr6 150 not peeing

cranked it up, strong stream, drove a lap or 2 warning horn went off, checked stream, still strong, idled back to dock lost all stream. dropped foot impeller looks fine, not chewed up etc, pulled one thermo and it moves like it should, nothing obstructing the intake either, what the heck?????

get ya a water pressure gauge installed..

first thing done when ya chasin' an "unknown" heat problem is a complete water pump "kit" no mater what tha parts look like.. especially if ya don't have a water pressure gauge.. pee stream can be mis-leadin'..

t-stats can be easily checked ona stove top..
poppet kit is cheap..

those three things will usually straighten it out.. if not that's when ya gotta get really serious and start taken thing apart!

thanks, i have a water pressure gauge, it was running around 10psi then drop to less than 5 with the stream stopped. i agree, water pump kit etc is cheap insurance!
