Hello all,
My daughter and I are restoring a Albemarle together and we recently purchased a low hour VP DP-SM outdrive along with the VP GSI 5.7 engine. The previous owner converted to a Bracket/Outboard. Anywho, when he pulled the units, his neighbor bought a few parts which we need to source.
We need a bell housing, Inspection plate for the bell housing, flywheel, and coupler.
Now, normally one would think these parts would be easy to source, but it seems VP had a few different styles throughout the years.... Any help locating these parts would be greatly appreciated, along with recommendation of a good parts breakdown manual and a good service manual.

Not a guy that would know where to get older parts for VP but maybe @Scott Danforth might

My thought is Merc parts are cheaper and more readily available so why not use them?

Flywheel is just a $70 manual truck flywheel

Coupler is available from many places

Go to volvopentastore.com and look up part numbers. Then start googling.

You will find some parts on ebay, and some on craigslist. Also check some of the marine salvage places
