Re: 2004 yamaha f60 wont idle
Hi,
Yamaha F60 4-stroke is a fine outboard - guiet (also at full RPM), good force, and low fuel consumption, not so heavy. New for 2004 is that this outboard also meet CARB 3-star.

I have read tests of this outboard and other comparable 60 hp outboards and the tests show it is one of the best 60 hp 4-strokes out there today. With 6 year warranty and the fact that Yamaha Outboards Ranks Highest in J.D. Power and Associates Customer Satisfaction Study for the Second Year in a Row You have a solid ground to believe You will have very little trouble with your Yamaha outboard.

Slightly negative is perhaps that Yamaha F60 has carburators, but some will think that is an advantage (easier to do service if you prefer to do it yourself later when it is older, out of warranty etc).

The Mercury EFI 60 4-stroke is also a fine outboard, with the slight advatage of electronic fuel injection (EFI).

Suzuki DF60 (EFI) is also a great outboard but much heavier, so it depends what boat you have if this heavy outboard will be suitable (the DF70 is same outboard basically, same weight, so You may as well buy that if economy permit to get some extra force).

I use Yamaha F115 (2003) myself (I had a Suzuki 2-stroke before).

/Bo
