Hello,
I have been looking for a boat for sometime and I have found a Stratos with a 2005 Yamaha 3.1 Litre and have been searching on several forums and can't really find anything on these motors. What I am finding is the newer
3.3L HPDI motors. Some people have said these motors built with a 2.6L block so I searched with very very little reviews. The motor doesn't have many hrs on it it is a '05 model but was bought new in fall of '06. and the boat is spotless with no scratches on boat or motor the skeg is even scratchless. So I think it has little hrs on it and ben well maintained. I will be taking to the lake for test drive in the next few days. Does anyone have any input on these motors and what kind of problem have these had? I also read that the 200,225,250 etc are all the same just different computers is this correct? I went to the yamaha website and all the above motors has the same block,stoke,pistons etc just curious. Here is a pic of the motor I am asking about. Thanks
