I just purchased a new 225 for my fishing boat and I noticed that after I have run the motors(8 horse trolling Yam)and shut them down, I hear a ticking from the battery/bilge area. When I took the boat in for its break in service I mentioned this to the service manager and he told me that this was normal on this engine. He told me the ticking sound was coming from the fuel pump. Does anyone else have any information on this issue I am having? To me it dosen't seem that after the motor is shut down that the fuel pump should still have some type of electrical activity going on. Wouldn't that cause the pump to burn out prematurley? Thanks, Todd

at the initial shut down the injectors cycle. it takes less than a second. but if its been shut down 5 seconds and your hearing things clicking its time to start hunting. could also be a bilge pump or washdown pump.

I traced it down to the sounder/gps. I have a garmin 178 and I found that if I change the frequency of the transducer the clicking gets louder/more frequent. What the heck? Thanks, Todd
