2005 60HP 4 Stroke Bigfoot Problem!

Hello Fourm,
I have a mercury engine (The one listed above^^^) and I had a problem out on the water today with it.

1. When running at anything above half throttle the motor started kicking in and out and sputtering and hopping up and down on the back of the transom. It sort of made the motions and feeling of the engine hitting the bottom ( I wasn't I was in 8 foot of water).

What could the problem be? Bad fuel? Please help.

How old is the fuel?
Could be water in the fuel. Do you have a water seperating fuel filter installed?
Do you have spark on all cylinders?
Does this happen all the time or intermittent?
Was it kicking out like it was coming out of gear and jumping back in? That could be cable adjustment
Do you have a remote control, or is this a tiller model.
Got a SN for the engine?

Don't you just hate it when some one asks for help, gets a bunch of advice and then never comes back to let us know what is happening............... damn!
