Hi All,
My kicker is a 2005 merc. 9.9 hp 4 stroke. Recently out fishing I was trying to learn this motor and I forced the throttle/gear handle to hard stripping something out. Haven't bought a manual yet because just bought the boat. Mechanic thinks its the rod in there and connects the handgrip with the throttle cable mechanism. I purchased this rod and trying to put it in right now. I do not see how the top of the handle comes off. It appears that if would slide upwards and off. Thats how the handgrip came off. And what about the red kill switch on top does that just pull off? I don't want to force break anything and make a bigger mess. Any advice would much be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Brandon
