So, after messing around digging in the engine compartment and searching the net I believe that for my boat to have Smartcraft digital display on my iPad I will need the following:

2 Data Cables 879981 (one for each engine) connected to the engine side (photo: can line)
Other end of data cable (photo: cable data) connected to junction box
Junction box connected to VesselView Mobile.
Thats it!
VV Mobile should connect via bluetooth to iPad

Am I missing something??

Scott, I have been using an iPad for years with Navionics and Vexilar sp200 for depth finder. I built a small shade for the iPad and no problem so far. My question is if the above mentioned hardware is all i need to read gauges in my iPad.

It will work just fine in sunshine. I use this every time.
You will also need a yellow “terminator” plug to plug into the port left over on each engine.
The vessel view then takes care of the rest. It will pick up each engine and is capable of multiple read out on your iPad, phone or whatever.

This is what you need....if you don’t already have the yellow cap there. The early MPI don’t have the yellow cap....apparently the later ones do. You defo need these anyway, for it to work.
