The power trim on my motor wont lift the motor. It worked last fall but will just barely start to lift the motor now. Motor runs, sounds normal. Checked fluid level as manual says, its full. Any Ideas? Thanks.

I have a 2009 90hp efi 4 stroke with the same problem, the hydraulic cylinder had a crack in it. a friend of mine has a 115 optimax with the same problem, 2 years in a row. must be getting water in and cracking during winter storage. not a cheap part to buy either good luck

Yes, checked with motor full up position. Not sure where the manuel relief screw is. Got a call in to the nearest Merc Dealer, 3 hrs away.
Ok so I got a call from the service tech, found out where the relief screw was. Checked it, was tight, cycled lift several times. It goes up probably 1/4 to 1/3 of the way then stops and then drifts back down about 1/2 of what it lifted. Fluid level still seems full. He says a rebuild kit is about $80.00 with about $300 - $350 labor. Thinking about ordering a kit and doing it myself. Don't know if he will send me one. Waiting on a call back. How hard is it to rebuild? Special tools needed?
