When I push the trim up or down from time to time the motor stops running. No power shift does not work nothing. After a few seconds it cranks back up and runs fine. Anyone know what the problem might be?

i had that same problem and it was a bad ground.. check your battery conections if you have wing nuts get rid of them...also check the ground on your motor mine still had paint on it were it was grounded from yamaha painting it in the factory

check all battery connections, like its pointed out, eliminate battery wingnuts.
if all connections are clean and tight then have your dealership research the primary ID, there are a few tech bullitens and recalls , one pertains to the engine stutter or shut down when the trim is used.
