It is my understanding that all the Seaxxx brand boats (Sea Hunt, Sea Boss, Sea Fox, etc) are/were solid boats. With motor I'd guesstimate a top speed of 40-45MPH.

Agreed; maybe closer to 40. Top speed is not a consideration for a boat like this since it's typically used where you don't run WOT--and you save fuel that way. I find 33 to be the comfortable fast cruising speed (hitting the motor's sweet spot about there.) I also was able to try abuot a half a dozen props but after a while, most were either good at the top or good at the bottom and hard to judge.

I have a 2003 Sea Hunt CC, no T top, 21', Carbed 150 Yam; painted bottom. I ran it once before I painted the bottom and guess the paint cost me 3-4 MPH but not sure.

On a 2006 full fiberglass liner boat, I think it would be tough to go wrong. A sea-trial is always best.

Agreed. Unles it's been crunched, burned or sunk, focus on the motor; a salt water boat like that, made for outdoor use, won't have the problems the sofa boaters always talk about. But take a look at the wiring up under the console to see if it looks squared away, or replaced recently by a yahoo who didn't know how (along those lines, size up the seller--does he know what he's doing and does he take care of his stuff?)

Where are you located?

I bought mine without a sea trial b/c I had recently been in a friend's similar rig (Sea Pro w/ 150) and knew what to expect. My price was such that I could afford some motor work if needed. Of course I checked the compression and looked at the LU oil and magnet, ranit on muffs, and planned to replace the water pump before running it.

not the same but generally regarded as the same class of boat, when looking at the center console. Sea Ox, Sea pro, Sea hunt, sea hawk, etc. Sea Chaser is a good one, made by Carolina Skiff
Sea Craft is a classic of better design.
Sea Ray is different but they make more sofa boats and larger boats, cabins, etc.
I think Bayliner has a model with "Sea" in it.
