The boat has had no problems for a long time. I run it a lot. The other day we got ready to leave a fishing spot and the no oil light illuminated in the tach indicator. I added some oil just in case but there was not a low oil light only the no oil. For some reason I ran the tilt all the way up and down and it looked like it was going to clear but it came right back after a second. Ive got it home and I can't get it to clear. I idled back to the dock. I'm sure it would have limited me to 1500 RPMs but I saw no value in testing that. There are tiny air bubbles in the oil lines that you can barely see. They do let me watch the oild flow when I try to purge the system. All three lines are running oil but the light never goes out. In the diagnostics I get oil frequency .7hz Galperhr .003 Pulse Width 81 ms and no missed pulses. I don't know what to do. I don't want to damage my engine.

Since nobody has replied yet, I'll jump in here to get your problem back up to the top of the list... BUT... keep in mind that I retired in 1991 so your 2006 model is pretty foreign to me. Hopefully some member with full knowledge of your engine jumps in here with proper advice.

Having said that..... I assume that you did apply some pressure to the oil primer bulb?

Those tiny air bubbles... you need to get rid of the air!

(Priming The VRO Pump)
(J. Reeves)

When hooking up or installing a VRO whether it is a new or original VRO pump, it must be primed in order to dispel any air that might be in the oil line.

Have the Oil line attached to the engine fitting BUT detached from the VRO. Add a piece of fuel hose if necessary to the oil line so that it can be aimed into some sort of container.

Pump the oil primer bulb, catching the oil flowing out of the line into the container until you are absolutely sure that you have rid the oil line of every bit of air that might have been trapped there.

Now, connect the oil line to the VRO and secure it. When the oil line is secured, apply pressure to the oil primer bulb ONE TIME only. That's it.

75 and 90 ETEC of that time had a notorious NO oil code 38 alarm issue

( get your dealer to dump the alarm log it will show all alarms since 2006 if the EMM was not replaced for some reason )

software needs updating to make the EMM less touchy (more tolerant to missing oil pulses)

and the oil pump needs to be replaced KNOWN ISSUE !!! but it could be something else of course

go to the ETEC owner's group site and do searches on NO OIL CODE 38 alarms google the issue

my 75hp drove me nuts for 8 years till BRP fixed it I paid 1 hour labor only … never had NO oil code 38 since engine is 13 years old and runs fine

sometimes a WINTRERIZE will clear the bubbles and the alarm …. btw cold mornings don't help
