So this is my buddy's boat and I told him that I would ask you guys about it. Says he was zipping along the lake at prob 3/4 throttle and then all of sudden he lost power. Said he came to a stop and didn't have forward or reverse.
He said no funny noises, rubber smell, vibrations etc..He said it idles fine.
I told him I'd take a look at it tonight. I'm no mechanic but have a general idea on what to look for.
I'm thinking coupler, outdrive gears, shift cable.
He said he pulled the prop and can turn the outdrive shaft by hand back and forth with the shift lever in gear.

I'm looking for a starting place on what to look for.

Thanks..
