Hello to all on this site! Today, I purchased my first new Merc. for a Bay boat for use in salt water. Until now, I have always used Johnson/Evinrude products with pretty good luck. I am excited about having a great looking motor on the back of my boat! The dealer did his best to push me into a four stroke Honda, but WOW, it was real expensive, and the performance was terrible (On a test ride) I chose the two stroke Optimax instead.
Anyway, is there anything special I should know about this motor? How is the fuel economy with this brand of motor? What about 2 stroke Oil? Should I only use quicksilver?
