Just wondering if anyone has experience with Monterey boats. I plan to look over a 2006 in a week or so. Nice looking but I wonder how it does in a salt water environment.
Thanks

Never been on the 302, but the 298 enjoys a reputation of an excellent ride in rough water. The 302 is much heavier and I'd be very surprised it it did not have a great ride as well.

What would you like to know. I sea trialed a 302 and 322 a couple of years ago, before we bought a 282CR. We are on our 2nd Monterey.

Dave, the 298 is really a big day boat, not an express cruiser like the 302, so performance charasteristics of the two hulls will vary greatly, but as you say, the ride is great.

hello , we have a 26 foot montery and we love it . we traded in our searay for this boat . the quality and fit and finish is better and it handles a lot better than our searay did ..

Make sure that major maintenance items have been addressed, or if not, that the price reflects what you'll need to invest. At 8 years old you're due for new bellows on the outdrives. If this is a salt water boat and the motors are raw water cooled, manifolds and risers should be replaced. Good luck!

Make sure it does not have the Volvo composite drives. I think they are the XDP.
