I recently purchased this motor. It has approximately 450 hours on it. Initial startup it ran great purred like it should with the muffs on. Took it to the lake and it ran really nice at low speed. As I accelerated. It began to run rough And finally died as I attempted full acceleration. I’ve replaced the high-pressure fuel pump and the air idle control valve, but it has not seem to have an effect. in attempting to start it last night It started up for a second and then shut off and then wouldn’t start anymore , not getting any codes. It’s scheduled to go to the mechanic next week. Didn’t know if there was something else I could try in the meantime.

Also, does an existing gas tank sending unit work on with a new Suzuki gauge. It’s a 1986 Grady 223 tournament.

Did you ever get this resolved? I had the exact same issue with my 2009. I tried countless fixes but never had 1 specific thing that fixed it. It slowly stopped happening.

If you could test the fuel pressure, that would help a lot. Otherwise, replace the low pressure pump.

I recently replaced the LP fuel pump on my 2002 3.3L F225. Used a Carter with custom fittings. See my other post in this thread. Once I seatrial it, I will post more about the new pump installation. Yamaha pump, $900 and probably not available. USA made Carter pump with custom fittings, $160.
