2006 Yamaha 4 Stroke 40 hp Stalling on Holeshot

Hello all,

When I goose the throttle coming out of idle, it will stall unless I let it warm for several minutes. I also have to nurse it up to full throttle. It runs great at full throttle and when in gear at lower rpms.

I do not know the full history of the rig as I bought it used. Looks super clean under the cover. Had it in once to the shop and they said the rpms were slightly off at idle. Interestingly, they had a Yamaha rep in at the time and they cringed at that year/make of motor. I guess this is commom behavior.

What do you all think? Carburetor issues? I run fuel stabilizer and the Yamaha ring free fuel additive. Would Sea Foam help?
