2007 150 hp Mercury Carbed Motor

I am having troubles with a 96 evinrude and really am loosing confidence in motor. I was at a local dealer and had a left over new 2007 150 Merc Carburated model for 7500 installed otd. Sounds like a good deal? Does anyone have any experience with this motor or model?

Really good engine, 2.5 liter bore, CDM ignition and dang good price!!!
