Hi Folks

At first I thought I was being dumb but I couldn't find the carb adjustment. I looked in the manual it is says take to a dealer so that's not much help! So I asked a marine mechanic who has done work in the past for me and he doesn't haver a clue either!!! I had some problems with dieseling last year and want to try leaning it up any ideas?

Thanks

Rob

2007 3.0 comes up as manual 26.shown is a carb that may have a cap over the mixture screw thats needs to be removed for adjustment
See page 5B-13 of that manual. listing has the emissions and non-emissions carb models

The most common problem with dieseling on the 3.0L is idle rpm too high (anything over 700) and not allowing the engine to cool down a minute or two after coming off plane.
You also have the TKS carb and one of the major problems with them is running the engine too lean. (EPA).

Also with the TKS carb, it takes a special tool to adjust the idle mixture.

Thanks all

Don that looks like the beast, so it looks like I am down to the shop to get it adjusted. Just out of interest I noticed the last couple of times out I have let the boat warm at the doc them moved away when i go to put the power on the boat goes to die if I ease off and go again it takes off fine. It only does this when first started could this be to lean as well?

Let it warm up fully. That sorry carb is just another of Mercruisers ideas of how to take a simple idea and make it high tech and impossible to work on and get right. Chokes have always worked fine, and you could actually use the boat before it was fully warmed up. Not so with the TKS.
