I took my boat out today and as i was riding it felt heavy than normal when i opened the engine compartment i seen a lot of water and i knew something was wrong. Water pushing in from behind the starter. I’m not sure what the cause of it is. I have added 2 videos. There is a square like whole behind the starter this is where it’s pumping the water into the boat.

There are core plugs on the rear of the block. One of them has rusted out or pushed out. Will need to pull the motor and remove the bell housing to find out

I looked at it last night. I thought the same thing. I thought one of the freeze plugs came out however. Seemed like the boat had water in the bottom from this winter and it was so full back there the flywheel was pushing the water out and it made it look like it was “ Pumping “ water.

I opened the block when the motor was running the let the engine get hot a little and closed it. Did this for a little to get the block hot. No water was pumping.

Do you happen to live in one of the recently (sort of) unexpected hard hit winter freeze states such as Texas for example?

Those core plugs rarely fail unless either the engine froze or, someone replaced the block and used automotive core plugs which will rot out in a marine application.

Ayuh,..... It's a mortal sin to leave the bilge drain plug in any boat stored on the hard,.......
Always, Always pull the drain plug,.....

The plug was out however the boat was sitting on flat land therefore it didn’t drain towards the rear of the boat to drain 🤦🏼‍♂️
