2007 DF115 for 1988 Stratos 179

I have an 1988 Stratos with Johnson 150GT on it. I want to replace my old engine with a used 2007 Suzuki DF115. The DF115 was exchanged in the dealer for a bigger engine. First I don't know much about Suzuki, I was considering either Yamaha or Honda before I talked to the dealer. The dealer gave me several options with a new Honda (115, 135 HP) and later told me that I might like to consider a used Suzuki. They are asking $6000 installed with everything (control, cable and prop). Is this a reasonable price for a used DF115 with 1 more year of warranty? I am not sure if this comes with the tachometer with warning indicators. What should I be asking the dealer about this engine? What else do I need to add to complete the rig? My existing gauges are Teleflex. I also have a Teleflex double cable steering.

How is this compare to Yamaha or Honda with the same HP?

Any help before I decide on this engine is appreciated.

Assuming there is a Suzuki dealers around, do they still have problem getting things fixed (lack of parts)?

Am I better of going to my original plan of using either Yamaha or Honda?

I tried to find if there is any common issue with 4 stroke Suzuki and I haven't seen one in this forum. I also did not see any major issues with either Yamaha or Honda. Did I miss anything?

I am going to check the used DF115 this week. I can only check the physical looks, whether it is neglected, complete or damaged but I don't know much about this engine. I really need some info from DF115 users, good or bad.

I decided to get the 2007 pre-owned Suzuki DF115. I asked the dealer to install the Suzuki tach with monitor and I'm glad I did. Based on the tach reading (when you first turn the ignition), the engine has approximately 250 hours.

The performance is night and day compare to my old Johnson 150GT. It is very quiet, starts on first crank even when cold and I never troll like this
with this boat. I can troll at extremely low RPM with no boat shake (coming from my old Johnson). Surprisingly, I feel that I did not lose much speed going down to this 115 HP. The engine is so smooth at any speed, the boat is more enjoyable to use.

The engine came with a stainless prop (13 78 X 19). I still need to try it at WOT when the lake is calm. I think I'm OK with this prop for now.

The dealer is going to sell my old engine, if anybody is interested. It is by Lake Barkley in Kentucky.
