My 50 hp Merc is difficult to re-start after running for awhile. It can take 7 or 8 tries to restart after it has been running, then other times it fires right off. Of course after trying to start it several times, I begin to smell fuel like it is trying to flood, which seems to be a normal response after attempting to re-start it many times. If I hit the choke, it will then fire off after a few more tries. It hasn't stranded me yet, but I'm afraid I wont be able to re-start it one of these days. Any ideas what could be making this engine hard to start at times when warmed up?
