Hello all! I am new to I/O boats and just bought a 2007 Four Winns Horizon 180. It has a Volvo Penta 3.0 motor and our drive. Everything works great except for one thing. When I first launch the boat I start it and let it warm up while I park the trailer. It starts immediately from a cold start. When I go to pull away from the dock it stalls out on the initial placement in gear unless I put a lot of throttle into it. I hate doing that in shallow water and also look like a complete idiot too. After the initial hiccup it runs great. Even after I shut it off at the swimming hole for 4 hours or more it still starts and never stalls on acceleration. I think it may be a auto choke problem but am open to other ideas please? Has anyone experienced this before? Also... does anyone know how the auto choke system is supposed to work and how to check it? Maybe a website addrsss that explains it? I thought as the engine warms up the choke gradually opens up. I have observed mine right after start being completely open (choke off) before the engine is warmed up. (I don’t think that’s right) Thanks in advance for the help. Hopefully someone has an idea or has had this problem before!!
