The Winnebago Rally is a 3 day event which takes place on August 3rd, 4th, and 5th of 2007. It starts with arival and entertainment by "Michael Murphy and the MOB," on Friday evening. On Saturday, we cruise from location to location and have an optional poker run. We all meet up at "The Weed Beds," on lake Poygan for aerial photos. Re: 2007 Winnebago Rally

So where is "the beach head" and where are the "weed beds"?
Too bad they don't provide a map on their web site.

Bummer that they limit it to 100 boats.

So whats the deal? If its free, and you aren't one of the registered 100 boats, do they stop you from listening to the music or buying food?

Just trying to figure out where all the money comes from to pay for the facilities and music.

What say you, bekosh?

The 'beachhead' is at the city park in Winneconne. The Weed Beds is on Lake Poygan. I got this from a guy on another forum.
The Weed Bed on the south side of the lake, the very east part of Lake Poygan and slightly past the end of Lake Winneconne. If you are following the navigation buoys from Winneconne going north they start off taking you west across Lake Winneconne. At the point where they make you turn north to head into the Wolf River the Weed Bed would be to your left.

They limit it to 100 boats for safety reasons. They will still have to break that into 2 groups for the cruise on Sat.

The funding comes from sale of the 'goodie bags', the poker run entry fees, the raffle of donated stuff and from the sponsors.

I've been to the Winneconnie park many times. And I guess I've been to the weed beds a few times too, but it was always in early April, so no weeds.

The "slips" in the park is really a canal, about 150 yards long, 35 feet wide.
It has a wooden seawall on one side. Very protected.

I think you will enjoy it.

Just over 2 weeks till the Rally. There are still plenty of spots open. You can still pre-register or you can sign up the day of the rally.

Is this an annual event, and if so, can anyone get me information for 2009?
