I have two spots in the rear floor in front of the rear bench seat with raised ribs/ridges under the carpet. There are no apparent soft/spongey spots, but I am concerned there is an issue with the floor supports.

Well yea I see that. So maybe your carpet buggered up. Doubt it though.
Won't know squat till you pull the carpet, see the issue and open up the floor.
De Nile ain't just another river.
Good luck.
How long have you owned the boat and was any work done prior?

Original owner. Bought in 2008, keep it covered, and shrinkwrap every winter. Between my fingers is solid raised ridge...almost as if a warped/buckled edge. The carpet is loose between ridges

Well like it or not it's not going away is it? Keep it the way it is or decide to do investigation. I'm kinda done making my suggestions. Hopefully someone else may chime in.

Of course I'm going to do an investigation kcassells.......Just trying to get an idea of what it might be. Not under any misconceptions here. Will bring it in to be checked since I have no experience ripping up boat carpet.

unbolt as much as you can from the interior

grab the edge of the carpet and pull.

most likely the floor is coming out anyway....with a saw and grinder
