Hey guys - just pulled the cover off the boat today after the winter to do some maintenance and get it ready for the season. A couple of things I came across:
- The trim gauge does not display correctly - when the stern drive is fully up it only shos it as about 3/4 up. Additionally, when it is in the fully down position it shows it still has a little ways to go. I assume this is just an adjustment - correct? Anyone have a link to directions?
- The trim switch does not seem to be working correctly either. It works down perfectly fine - but when I push it in the up position it goes up a little but then won't go any further unless I push it the second click to the trailer position - then it will continue going up. I am used to it going most of the way up when you push up and only having to push it the final click to get it the last bit up to trailer it. Thoughts on is one?
- Lastly, I noticed some fluid around the base of the trim pump (reservoir is full by the way) and I wanted to remove the hoses vid the quick disconnects to check they were on tight and clean around them. It's not a big deal to bleed the air out so I wasn't worried about that. The issue I ran into, however, is that connector on the up hose would not budge. I don't want to strip or break the connection but does anyone have any thoughts as to why it won't move? I just don't know if it is under pressure or something or if it is just seized. Thanks!

Ayuh,..... #1 sounds like the trim sender is on it's way out, 'n #2 sounds like the trim limit switch is on it's way out,....

They reside on each side of the outdrive on the pivot points,.....

#3 sounds like there might be a load on the line that won't release,...
Run the drive all the way down, 'n try it,....
