2008 Suzuki 9.9 Speed

I just bought a new Suzuki 9.9 and in going through the break in the manual said to keep the RPM under 3000 or half throttle for the first 3 hours or so.

So I never put the twist grip past the start line. Now that the break-in is over I am now taking it to full speed but I am realising that moving the twist grip past the start line to full throttle hardly changes the speed at all.

Anybody have any experience with this? Is my twist grip not properly adjusted?

Thanks in advance

I have the same engine except 2007 and have not had any problems with it so far, but then again I broke mine with a little more than just idling. Keep us up to date on a solution.

take the top cover off your motor so you can see the engine and look in the carb while you rotate your throttle twist grip...at wide open, your throttle slide should be wide open and you should be able to see into the engine. there is usually a brass screw adjustment on one end of the throttle cable to take out any slack, if required. should be no problem. good luck!
